‘It’s Not Worth It,’ Chinx Murder Suspect Tells Kids

When Quincy Homere walked out of a courtroom in Queens County Criminal Court surrounded by law enforcement officers Wednesday, he had a message for four young people sitting in chairs in the hallway.

“Keep yourself out of trouble,” Homere said. “It’s not worth it.”

Prosecutors say Homere, 32, failed to heed his own advice.

Nuanced Directives, Power of Attorney Can Stem Elder Abuse

Those are just three examples of elder abuse, fraud and predation that have made their way to Queens County Criminal Court in recent weeks. They are reflective of a larger problem, says Julie Stoil Fernandez, the co-chair of the Elder Abuse Committee of the New York State Bar Association. Fernandez told the Queens Daily Eagle that predatory behaviors and outright scams are getting worse and more common as the borough’s population ages.

Queens County Criminal Court Calendar For Aug. 2, 2018

Charles Tobin is charged with the knifepoint sexual assaults of two women in Flushing’s Kissena Park in 2017. The first rape occurred after Tobin allegedly demanded money from a 32-year-old woman at knifepoint before pulling her into a trail in a wooded area and raping her.

The next night, Tobin allegedly held a knife to a 17-year-old girl, forced her into the woods and made her perform a sex act. Both victims were treated at a local hospital.
