Comrie to Host Foreclosure Legal Clinic for Residents

State Sen. Leroy Comrie will host a series of legal assistance clinics for residents facing foreclosure at his office on Farmers Boulevard in St. Albans. The workshops will take place on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

After a recent report revealed a high rate of foreclosures in Queens, Comrie announced that he will host a legal clinic at his St. Alban’s office.

Trash Law Treasured In Southeast Queens

The smell of trash and the rumble of garbage trucks are all too common experiences for residents of Southeast Queens.

For years, Community District 12 — which includes Jamaica, Hollis, St. Albans, Springfield Gardens, Baisley Park, Rochdale Village and South Jamaica — has been a literal dumping ground for the rest of New York City, but starting next year, the trash burden will lighten.

Burglar Killed During St. Albans Home Invasion

A suspected burglar who was trying to break into a St. Albans home early Monday was killed by one of the homeowners, police said. The story was first reported by NBC4.

The NYPD said two brothers who live in a home on Williamson Avenue near 197th Street in St. Albans confronted the 26-year-old suspect around 2:45 a.m. Monday.
